We live in Richmond, VA and we have recently signed up to build our dream home. We have roamed around the area quiet a bit looking for our dream home and we have finally decided to build one - the Waverly model with Ryan Homes!!

Flooring meeting
Tomorrow we are meeting the flooring guys to choose flooring options. We have already selected the brick, shutters and door, granite, vanity top granite, and cabinets.we are looking forward to tomorrow's appointment ...any suggestions on the do's and dont's of flooring selections will be helpful.

My best advice is to go in with an open mind, knowing that you can return to finalize your selections. It's very overwhelming to be in the room with so many choices. What I wished they had was a price list so that you could see what all of the upgrades would cost. Instead, we had to ask the rep over and over, "What would it be if we did this?" Also, be sure to take pictures of everything because it's difficult to remember what you picked :) Good luck!

ReplyDeleteWe had our flooring appointment and as expected we were overwhelmed with the options and choices that we had to make in two hours. We are going to schedule another meeting for flooring . We definitely need to revisit the the following options. Any suggestions would be helpful
• Hardwood strip vs plank. Both the options that we saw were very close in colors. We need to decide on which one to go with.
• Light Vs Dark colored ceramic tiles in both the kitchen area (Kitchen, Morning Room and Laundry) and bathrooms (Owner’s bath, Hall Bath, and basement bath)
• Hardwood Vs Carpet in family room.
