Light Cream Vs Dark Color Ceramic Tiles....?

We have to make our final decision on Ceramic tiles for our Kitchen, Morning Room, Laundry and All bath rooms. We are still comtemplating on light vs darker color tiles.....both shades seem to look good.... any suggestions on ceremaic tile colors?

  1. With the Cherry Bordeaux cabinets, I would probably go with the lighter tiles as a contrast. I'm sure either of the tiles would look great. Are you leaning towards a certain one? Do you have any pics?

    1. Rachel,

we have changed our cabinets to cherry spice recently. So far we have seen houses or pictures with light cream color tiles. They look great but we just can't make out how a darker color tile would change the look of the kitchen?

  2. We got the darker ones and they came out beautifully. We took hardwoods on the first floor, though. You can see how beautifully the darker ones worked in our bathrooms, with our selections. They do not darken up the rooms, but they stand out. I never would have chosen them - my husband made that call, and I am so glad he did.

I really think it is personal preference, though. What will you look at day in and day out and love?

  3. I think you can't go wrong with either...we have dark tile in our Sunroom and Basement bar area and they look fantastic and don't darken either area. We also have lighter tile in our first floor bathroom and master bath.

In our kitchen we have the Cherry Bordeaux cabinets with the dark cherry hardwood and Santa Cecelia granite and love love love the combination. We were worried it was going to be too dark, but with the morning room and kitchen windows we get tons of light and it never feels dark.
