Pre-Settlement Meeting

We have been busy packing, buying stuff and getting ready to bid adieu to our apartment. We had our final walk through today. Except for a few minor cosmetic issues everything was good. Our meeting lasted two and half hours. Here are a few pics..more after we move-in

The Final Countdown

The final countdown has begun...except for the appliance installation, backsplash accent tile re-installation in the kitchen and sodding everything has been completed. Starting last Friday, the PM and his crew are working towards setting up the house for Ryan Home Quality Control (the PM will be rated based on the qc rating)....a lot of small defects are being addressed and is expected to continue throughout next week...we will start working on our punch list starting Friday.


one thing we were unhappy about last week was the backsplash accent tile in the kitchen...they installed 3x3 dot accent while we chose 4x4 dot accent..the accent tile was also not layed out very well..the pattern was uneven...talked to the PM about it..it's going to be fixed next week.

Goose Neck Faucet

No more Walk-Ins...

We have been locked out! got all of our appliances today (Oven, Range, Vent Hood, in-built Microwave,  Dishwasher)...they have not fixed the appliances yet....they are awaiting some small changes to the kitchen cabinets. We are expecting all appliances to be installed early next week....We need to either visit during work hours or co-ordinate our visits with the PM to see the house hereafter...

Hardwood and Carpet installation started today...we expect it to be completed by tomorrow. The AC unit has been installed and the wooden mesh around it has been built as well.... too many things going on today..we only had time to verify that we are getting the right hardwood, carpet, padding etc...din't get to take pics today!!

Also, the gas meter is expected to be installed by tomorrow. Once installed, I can call the city to setup the service. I've scheduled all other services already - cable, internet, water, sewer, trash and electricity.

We are also expecting the driveway and deck to be done this week and sodding will most probably be done the week after.

Do you see what I see....? All installed bulbs (except for the ones in the porch and the deck) are energy saving bulbs. That means one less thing to worry about after the closing.
